saving money whilst golfing in the area. Visitors can buy a 3 round
pass for £55 or a 4 round pass for £69, valid at any of the 19

is valid for a period of 3 or 4 consecutive days. You can top off
your golfing experience by staying at our B&B, the former golf
clubhouse of the old Arbroath Golf Club. As well as enjoying your
breakfast whilst watching the local golfers in the morning, or
watching them throughout the day from our guest lounge or terraced

Craws
Nest Tassie and Maulesbank Trophy
The Craws Nest Tassie and Maulesbank Trophy is an annual golf
tournament held in Carnoustie during September. Its one of the
oldest amateur golf tournaments in Scotland. It was in 1927 when the
Tassie started, to mark the redesign of the course by James Braid.
He tightened up the course and added some 60 bunkers to its layout.
The course at this time was a formidable test of golf, but still not
the challenging monster that we know today. Golfers from all over
the world compete over the week on the
Carnoustie Championship Course and the Carnoustie Burnside Course.
Becoming more popular every year and open to anyone with a fairly
good handicap. Anyone interested in playing in this competition
should be warned, advance booking is advised due to its growing
popularity. The appeal of the Tassie is not only because of its
reputation, but also the fact that you can play on the Carnoustie
Championship Course 3 to 4 times over the week, plus a few rounds on
the Carnoustie Burnside Course for as little as £150 to £190.
Bearing in mind that one round on the Carnoustie Championship Course
costs around £100 at any other time. Entries are accepted in
January and places are soon snapped up. To enquire about this
tournament call the Carnoustie Links office on 01241 853789.
